Tishk International University<\/a> organized a scientific trip to 150m in Erbil, Hemn Group Aggregate Crusher Plant, and Asphalt Mixing Plant. The scientific trip was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Ganjeena Khoshnaw, Dr. Yousif Abdullah, and Mr. Halmat Muslih, and was divided into 2 sessions. In the morning students paid a visit to the 150m road in Erbil, which is currently under construction, to learn about road construction in practice.<\/p>\nOur staff and students were warmly welcomed by Engineer Anmar Ramzi when they arrived on-site, and they were briefed on the project and construction work. Dr. Ganjeena Khoshnaw started to link the theoretical study to the application of the project on the site, explaining to students how to relate and apply what was taught in theory to real practice.<\/p>\n
After finishing the first part of the trip, the supervisors accompanied the students to the Hemn Group Aggregate Crusher Plant and Asphalt Mixing Plant, where they were welcomed by Eng. Amir Salayi. During this session, students learned about the technical exposure of asphalt concrete, manufacturing processes, and other engineering aspects within the field. Students also discovered information on the processes of bituminous concrete formation, and tests conducted on Bitumen and aggregates. Through these industrial visits, students will gain more knowledge on Highway Material Technology application and learn how to relate to the theoretical knowledge learned from their courses and laboratory.<\/p>\n
