OSM is one of the well-known, international mapping organizations in the world that provide their services to all of the countries in the world for free.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mapping of Erbil City with OSM is one of the leading projects in the mapping industry in Iraq; it aims is to provide a free, editable map for the city, so that people including citizens and tourists can use it for daily-life needs and travel purposes. The data for maintenance of the manholes and catch basins of the city is also beneficial for the government, as it helps avoid such natural disasters and facilitates the process of repairing and service.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For this section of the project, three Civil Engineering students, Mohammed Omer, Aweza Ghazi, and Sarchil Faisal participated by collecting data from three different neighborhoods in Erbil.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/engineering.tiu.edu.iq\/civil\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-7092\" src=\"http:\/\/engineering.tiu.edu.iq\/civil\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/2-300x210.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"210\" srcset=\"https:\/\/engineering.tiu.edu.iq\/civil\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/2-200x140.jpg 200w, https:\/\/engineering.tiu.edu.iq\/civil\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/2-300x210.jpg 300w, https:\/\/engineering.tiu.edu.iq\/civil\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/2-400x279.jpg 400w, https:\/\/engineering.tiu.edu.iq\/civil\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/2-600x419.jpg 600w, https:\/\/engineering.tiu.edu.iq\/civil\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/2-768x537.jpg 768w, https:\/\/engineering.tiu.edu.iq\/civil\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/2-800x559.jpg 800w, https:\/\/engineering.tiu.edu.iq\/civil\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/2-1024x715.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/engineering.tiu.edu.iq\/civil\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/2.jpg 1095w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>3- Beirut port explosion &#8211; extended damage radius:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After the port explosion in Beirut in 2020, a wide area of the city was damaged. Therefore, OSM called out to all mappers around the world to work on the map of the damaged area.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Three students of TIU Department of Civil Engineering, Mohammed Omer, Aweza Ghazi, Sarchil Faisal joined the project and worked on the map of the damaged area for three days.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/engineering.tiu.edu.iq\/civil\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/3.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-7093\"
