On February 27, 2017 Civil Engineering Department organized an international Panel Entitled Sustainable Construction. Participants consisted of many scholars, engineers and students from different part of the world.<\/p>\n
In constructing buildings, vast quantities of earth\u2019s resources are expended, and significant portion of its environmental pollution is generated. The panel of \u201cSustainable Construction\u201d tries to put light on the understanding of the interplay between buildings and the environment, on the main elements of sustainability in building construction, and on the practice of sustainable construction, also called green building. The panel showed the importance for the design and construction industry to have \u2018green\u2019 practice integrated with mainstream practice.<\/p>\n
The panel was chaired by Dr. Botan Majeed Asinger, Dean of Erbil Technology Institute, EPU.<\/p>\n
The topics of sustainability which related to civil construction were presented by Prof. Dr. Bayan Salim Al-Nu\u2019man, Civil Engineering Dept., Tishk International University, Architectural aspects of sustainable issue were discussed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Khayat, Head of Architectural Engineering Dept., Salahaddin University and the mechanical part of sustainability issues were presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Hasan Hasson, Mechanical and Environmental Engineering, Tishk International University.<\/p>\n
