The Dean of Students of Tishk International University/ Faculty of Engineering organized a hiking trip to Safin Mountain on December 5th, 2020. Hiking is the outdoor activity of going on long walks in natural environments. It is a very popular activity worldwide, particularly amongst western societies and includes many benefits, such as improving mental health, losing excess weight and decreasing hypertension.

All participants gathered at the University campus and set off at 8:00 AM. All members were asked to prepare their belongings at home, and ensure they are well equipped in order to remain well hydrated and nourished throughout the journey. Omar Adulrazaq, a Archutecture Engineering Student, and Mohamad Nihad, Civil Engineering Alumni, guided the group during the trip. The team was further joined by two students from the Nursing Faculty, Mohamad Harem and Azad Othman, who accompanied the group as First Aid Staff. Approximately 240 students from different Engineering Departments participated in the trip.

Upon reaching the top of the mountain, everyone enjoyed a good rest, eating snacks and playing games, before heading back down. The total length of the hike was approximately between 12-14 km.

We, as the Dean of Students, hoped everyone enjoyed the outing and hope to arrange similar activities for both staff and students. Thank you to all who participated and supported the trip. Please remain tuned with us for future activities.
